Russian Police are trying to make people more aware of zebra crossings using actual zebras... except they couldn’t get any real zebras so they decided to paint some white horses with black stripes instead.
The horses were walked up and down crossings with signs on them urging motorists to slow down.
Russia has a particularly high rate of accidents with nearly 7,000 people injured at Pedestrian crossings in 2010.
The campaign is targeted at children as well as motorists who were urged to pay more attention to the ‘zebra’.
but i think its a bit cruel to paint horses!
